Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic therapist to join a residential care provider to support our young people, alongside staff and be instrumental in the creation and delivery of therapeutic care across our service.

*Main responsibilities;*

– Work therapeutically with our young people based on where they are functioning emotionally, developmentally and in accordance with their lived experiences.

– You will be part of the team who provides needs, risk, strengths-based assessments to provide clinical consultations and training to our therapeutic care staff.

– Provide specialist direct and indirect therapeutic assessment and intervention for children and adolescents.

– Complete therapeutic reports, clinical formulations, and therapeutic care plans for the young people we care for.

– Support residential carers to build and connect with their key children from an attachment and mental health perspective.

– Have knowledge of safeguarding and risk in relation to working with children and young people.

– Work therapeutically with young people using a range of approaches dependent on what matches their needs and capacity to tolerate the work.

– Be able to make autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.

– Provide training for residential care staff and other professionals within the organisation.

*Requirements;*

– Registration BACP OR HCPC

– Driving Licence

– To have at least 2 years relevant experience post qualification

*Skills*

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients and colleagues.
* Proficiency in developing comprehensive care plans tailored to individual client needs.
* IT skills for maintaining electronic health records and utilising relevant software for documentation.
* Empathy, patience, and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
* Critical thinking skills to assess situations accurately and make informed decisions regarding treatment options.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a client-centred approach.
